Hu Gu jiu (literally bone-strengthening liquor) is a medicinal liquor made from Chinese herbal medicine and baijiu. It uses more than sixty precious local medicinal herbs, blended with specially brewed high-quality baijiu, and undergoes dozens of processes such as repeated hot soaking, fat liquefaction, sealing, and filtration before being made. Traditional Chinese medicine recognizes the medicinal value of Hu Gu Jiu, making it highly sought after by many. Hu Gu Jiu not only treats and prevents diseases but also nourishes, beautifies, and moisturizes the skin.
The history of Hu Gu Jiu (commonly known as Tiger Bone Liquor) can be traced back to more than a thousand years ago, during the Sui and Tang dynasties. It was first recorded in Sun Simiao's "Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Golds." It is known for its functions of strengthening muscles and bones, invigorating the waist and kidneys, and dispelling wind and cold. Historically, this tonic was made from tiger bones, other Chinese herbs, and Chinese baijiu. Since 1993, it has been explicitly stated that rhinoceroses and tigers are internationally protected endangered wildlife. Therefore, Tiger Bone Liquor was renamed "Hu Gu Jiu (bone-strengthening liquor)."

2 oz Hu Gu Jiu, 1 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz ginger syrup, 1/2 oz lime juice, Pineapple wedge for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Hu Gu Jiu, pineapple juice, ginger syrup, and lime juice to the shaker. Shake well until chilled. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and enjoy!
