Port Charlotte 10 year old is conceived, distilled matured and bottled only on Islay. Made from 100% Scottish barley, it is trickle distilled through tall, narrow-necked stills for a balanced, heathery style of barbeque smoke.
This spirit reveals a dry, earthy smoke balanced by marine, ozone notes and oak aromas of caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, and spices like ginger, nutmeg, and clove. A drop of water unveils citrus hints of lemon meringue and clementine, along with floral scents of wild thyme, heather, and sea pink. The palate is delicate, with a harmonious blend of smoke, oak sweetness, coconut, lemon honey, and smoked oysters. The finish is a sublime mix of smoky, fudge, and malted barley, with layers of orange, mango, Banoffee pie, ripe apple, and apricot interwoven with malt and oak sweetness.
