Product details
The Casas del Bosque Reserva Chardonnay 2020 is a prime example of the winery's commitment to crafting wines that honor the unique characteristics of the Casablanca Valley. Known for its cool climate and sandy soils, this region allows the winery to produce a Chardonnay that is a true reflection of its terroir. Unlike Chardonnays from California’s Russian River or France’s Chablis, this wine strikes a balance between oak and fruit, with only 5% of the wine undergoing barrel aging and malolactic fermentation. The result is a wine that emphasizes the natural acidity, freshness, and minerality of Casablanca fruit, with quince notes and a zesty finish being signature traits across vintages.
On the nose, it offers bright aromas of lemon and green plums, with a subtle hint of toasted bread. The wine's minerality shines through, creating a lively and crisp profile that is balanced by a linear acidity on the palate. Best served chilled at 6–8ºC (43–46ºF), this Chardonnay pairs beautifully with shellfish, crustaceans like crab, and poultry. It also complements dishes with herbs and spices such as sage, tarragon, and nutmeg, as well as grilled vegetables like courgette and mushrooms, and creamy cheeses like vacherin, époisses, or burrata.
