Product details
Château Duhart-Milon, the only Fourth Growth in Pauillac, is closely linked to its renowned sister property, Château Lafite Rothschild, sharing the same winemaking team and ownership under the Domains de Barons de Rothschild. The estate boasts exceptional terroir with gravel, limestone, and clay soils. Despite facing setbacks in the mid-20th century, including frost damage and multiple ownership changes, the Rothschild family restored the vineyard to its former glory by expanding its planted area. Today, it thrives with 76 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, averaging 30-year-old vines.
The 2020 Château Duhart-Milon is a vibrant, medium-bodied wine with a deep garnet-purple hue, offering aromas of black cherries, raspberries, and exotic spices like cumin and star anise. Its structured, balanced palate features juicy black fruits, a plush texture, and lively freshness, finishing long and spicy. Critics praise its elegance, precision, and Pauillac character, with ratings ranging from 90 to 96 points. The blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot, and the wine is expected to age beautifully from 2024 to 2039.
