Duhart-Milon 2020 stands out as one of the best vintages in the past thirty years, despite
facing significant challenges. The warm, rainy spring led to a tough battle against mildew,
which the team successfully overcame. Miraculous mid-August rain in the north-east's drier
gravelly areas allowed the grapes to achieve perfect maturity. Throughout the growth cycle,
the entire vineyard, including the youngest vines, remained healthy and active, experiencing
just the right amount of water stress for an ideal harvest.
This wine boasts a beautiful, intense color with black and violet glints. The nose, still
reserved, shows the great aromatic potential that will develop with age, dominated by ripe,
fresh fruit aromas, blackcurrant, and menthol. On the palate, it offers terrific freshness and
ample volume, with well-defined, elegant tannins that gradually fill the mouth. The finish,
marked by characteristic notes of graphite, is remarkably long and lingering, showcasing its
Pauillac terroir.
