This 11 year old is the most compelling sherry butt single cask I've tasted in years. It's got an amazing nose of orange chutney, sweet cinnamon bark, tiramisu, fig jam, cocoa dust, butterscotch and old books covered in maple syrup. Hand selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, this single cask, at a big but very drinkable, 57.9% ABV is a true gem. The palate will light up your taste buds with fruitcake, hard caramel candies, black strap molasses, candied citrus peel, worn saddle leather. The finish lingers for a very long time and mingles the maltiness of the spirit itself with the power of one of the whisky worlds most intense cask types. Very impressive at every stage and a bargain given the impeccable quality.
