Product details
Fettercairn 46 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a rare expression from one of Scotland’s most historic distilleries, established in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay. Nestled in the foothills of the Cairngorms, Fettercairn is renowned for its innovative use of a unique copper cooling ring, which enhances the purity of its spirit. This exceptional whisky was distilled on May 8, 1973, and matured for over four decades in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a four-year finish in 40-year-old Tawny Port pipes.
On the nose, this whisky offers a complex bouquet of over-ripe bananas, toasted bread, citrus fruit, plum, raisin, bitter chocolate, fig, and spice. The palate reveals rich flavors of spiced pear, coffee, caramelised orange, liquorice, black cherries, and treacle, culminating in a finish of plum, demerara sugar, and chocolate. Its depth and complexity make it an ideal accompaniment to dark chocolate desserts, aged cheeses, or enjoyed on its own to fully appreciate its nuanced character.
