The GlenAllachie Distillery was built in 1967 outside of Aberlour. It quietly produced fine single malt without much fanfare until it's closure by Invergordon Distillers in 1987. Eventually, the distillery was sold to Pernod Ricard and began churning out malt again for their range of blends focused mainly on the French market. Because of the popularity of those blends it was almost never seen as a single malt, but in 2017 the distillery and its stock were sold to former Glendronach/BenRiach master distiller Billy Walker and a group of industry insiders. Mr. Walker has revamped the whiskies and truly brought them into their own. Finally, we have this wonderfully fruity rich and powerful Speysider on the market at last and showing its best.
