Wu Chia Pi Chiew, also known as Wu Chia Pi medicinal liquor, is a traditional medicinal liquor widely prepared and circulated in Chinese folk culture. It is generally made by soaking Chinese medicinal ingredients such as Wujiapi, ginseng, and cinnamon in baijiu or sorghum liquor. It is believed to have the effects of promoting qi circulation, activating blood circulation, dispelling wind and dampness, relaxing tendons, and activating collaterals.

Wu Chia Pi Chiew originated from the Ming Dynasty and was recorded in Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica." It is described as having the function of "tonifying the middle and benefiting qi, strengthening tendons and bones, enhancing willpower, and prolonging life." According to historical records, Wu Chia Pi Chiew was one of the ten imperial wines of the royal court, with a long history and great renown.

五加皮酒,又称五加皮药酒,在中国民间广泛流传配制的传统药酒。一般以白酒或高粱酒为基,加入五加皮、人参、肉桂等中药材浸泡而成,具有行气活血、驱风祛湿、舒筋活络等功效。

五加皮酒最早出自明朝李时珍的《本草纲目》记载:五加皮“补中益气,坚筋骨,强意志,久服轻身耐老”,民间更盛誉“宁得一把五加,不要金玉满车”。据史料记载,五加皮酒是十大宫廷御酒之一,历史久远,极富盛名。

Through modern scientific analysis, it has been found that Wu Chia Pi Chiew contains essential amino acids, various vitamins, and trace elements necessary for the human body. Golden Bell brand Wu Chia Pi Chiew adopts traditional brewing techniques, incorporating more than ten precious Chinese medicinal herbs such as Cortex Acanthopanax Gracilistylus, Pericarpium Citrus Reticulata, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Rhizoma Polygonatum Odoratum, Fructus Citrus Medica, and Licorice. These ingredients are soaked in wine jars for preservation, allowing the effective components of the herbs to fully dissolve in the liquor. After several months, red koji, syrup, and Polygonatum odoratum mucilage are added to the soaked mixture, creating a liquor with the effects of dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation, resolving phlegm, and strengthening bones and tendons.

Summer Wu Chia Pi Cocktail

2 oz Wu Chia Pi Chiew, 1 oz Lemon Juice, 0.5 oz Honey Syrup, 2 slices Cucumber, A few Mint Leaves, Soda Water, Ice Cubes

In a cocktail shaker, combine Five-Jia-Pi wine, lemon juice, and honey syrup. Add cucumber slices and mint leaves. Add ice cubes and gently shake. Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Top up with soda water and stir gently. Garnish with cucumber slices and mint leaves, then serve.

五加皮夏日鸡尾酒

2 盎司 五加皮酒,1 盎司 柠檬汁,0.5 盎司 蜂蜜糖浆,2 切片 青瓜,适量 薄荷叶,苏打水,冰块
