Product details
Juyondai, crafted by the historic Takagi Sake Brewery in Yamagata Prefecture since 1615, is one of the most expensive and sought-after sake brands in the world. Originating from the 14th generation of Takagi Brewers, Juyondai is renowned for its fragrant, fruity aroma and fresh taste, setting it apart from the traditionally spicier sakes. The brewery's success stems not only from its unique flavor profile but also from its use of carefully selected sake rice varieties, including Yamada Nishiki and specially developed strains like Son of Ryujin and Jiuweifu. Juyondai's high price, even at the entry level, often surpasses top-tier wines, contributing to its reputation as a premium, unparalleled sake.
This Yamagata-exclusive sake is a Junmai Daiginjo Morohaku made with premium Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 45%. It boasts an elegant fragrance reminiscent of La France pears, with a sweet floral freshness. As the temperature rises, the aroma becomes rich, sweet tropical fruit notes. The balanced acidity and subtle bitterness complement its umami, making it an excellent pairing for sauced skewers, hot pots, boiled dishes, seafood, and salt-grilled foods.
