Product details
Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte has a history in Bordeaux dating back over 800 years. The estate was established by Du Boscq in 1365 and was later purchased by George Smith in 1720, giving it its current name. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard acquired the estate from Louis Eschenauer, a Bordeaux negociant. Under their management, the estate, which grows both red and white wines, has flourished. With 55% of its red vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% to Merlot, and 10% to Cabernet Franc, Smith Haut Lafitte is now one of Bordeaux's notable success stories.
Smith Haut Lafitte’s second wine is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, offering earthy, foresty aromas with hints of licorice, tobacco, coffee, black raspberry, and plums. On the palate, it displays excellent freshness, soft tannins, and rich density, finishing with spicy dark notes and an abundance of red fruits. The wine captures the essence of the renowned estate's terroir and craftsmanship.
