Product details
Mariflor Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a distinguished wine from the renowned Mariflor estate, part of the Rolland Collection in Argentina's Uco Valley. Established by esteemed French oenologists Michel and Dany Rolland, Mariflor reflects their two-decade-long passion for Argentina's winemaking potential. The estate is situated at an elevation of 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) in Vista Flores, Mendoza, where the sandy-gravel soils provide an ideal terroir for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2020 vintage showcases meticulous craftsmanship, with manual harvesting, double sorting, and gravity-fed vinification in small concrete tanks. Fermentation occurs in new French oak barrels, followed by 15 to 18 months of aging, resulting in a wine of exceptional structure and complexity.
On the nose, this Cabernet Sauvignon reveals bright aromas of wild berries, complemented by subtle hints of sweet peppers. The palate is lively, featuring flavors of raspberry jam intertwined with nuances of blackcurrant, spices, licorice, and mint. Firm tannins and balanced acidity contribute to a smooth texture and a well-structured profile, offering excellent aging potential. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with a wide array of dishes, including grilled meats, hearty stews, and mature cheeses. Its freshness when young also makes it an excellent companion for lighter fare, ensuring a delightful experience whether enjoyed now or after careful cellaring.
