Product details
Mariflor Red Blend 2020 is a distinguished wine from the esteemed Mariflor estate, part of the Rolland Collection in Argentina's Uco Valley. Founded by renowned French oenologists Michel and Dany Rolland, the estate spans 247 acres at an elevation of 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) in Vista Flores, Mendoza. The 2020 vintage is a harmonious blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Malbec, meticulously crafted to showcase the unique terroir of the region. The winemaking process involves manual harvesting, double sorting, gravity-fed vinification with pigeage, and co-fermentation in small concrete tanks. Malolactic fermentation occurs in new French oak barrels, followed by 12 months of aging in the same barrels, resulting in a wine of exceptional depth and complexity.
This Red Blend exhibits a deep violet hue, indicative of its rich composition. The nose is intensely aromatic, revealing varietal nuances of Cabernet Franc alongside robust, spicy black fruit notes from the Malbec. On the palate, the wine offers a seamless integration of elegance and power, with flavors of ripe red fruits, pepper, and subtle mineral undertones. The well-structured tannins and balanced acidity provide a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, leading to a long, satisfying finish. With a potential for aging up to 10 years, this wine pairs exquisitely with a variety of dishes, including grilled meats, hearty stews, and mature cheeses. For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to serve the wine between 16º and 18ºC, decanting for an hour prior to serving.
