Product details
Marqués de Murrieta Dalmau Reserva Rioja 2019 is the most expressive and avant-garde wine in the historic winery’s portfolio—an emblem of innovation rooted in tradition. Crafted from the finest grapes of the Canajas vineyard, a 9-hectare single plot planted in 1950 at 465 meters altitude, this limited-production red showcases the unique personality of its origin. The iron-clay soils with stony topsoil naturally restrict yields to just 1 kg per vine, fostering small, concentrated berries. Each grape variety—primarily Tempranillo with touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano—is hand-selected and fermented separately in 13,900-liter Allier French oak vats with meticulous extraction techniques. The wine then matures for 20 months in Allier French oak barrels and an additional 6 months in concrete vats, resulting in a powerful yet polished expression of Rioja terroir.
The 2019 Dalmau offers an intensely aromatic bouquet of blueberries, red plum, thyme, cedar, and black pepper. On the palate, it is broad and well-structured, delivering a splendid interplay of dark fruit, spice, and savory herbs with a long, juicy finish. The wine’s depth and elegance make it an ideal pairing for robust dishes such as marinated venison with juniper-chocolate sauce or grilled beef with earthy root vegetables. Both refined and bold, Dalmau Reserva stands as a modern icon within a legacy of excellence.
