Product details
Iwai Tradition is a limited-edition blended Japanese whisky from Mars Shinshu in Nagano, Japan, featuring a unique mix of 70% malted barley and 30% corn. This special release is predominantly aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, though other cask types such as ex-wine, port, and new oak may be included, varying with each batch. For this year's edition, the whisky undergoes a finishing period in ex-Pinot Noir and Cabernet casks from Mars Winery in Yamanashi, imparting distinctive aromas of toasted oats, strawberries, and sweet cream.
On the palate, Iwai Tradition offers a rich combination of pomegranate molasses, rosemary, and pink peppercorn, with a lingering note of cinnamon. While it retains the peppery core of the original Iwai Tradition, this limited release replaces its floral undertones with nuanced baking spices. The whisky is presented as non-age statement and non-chill filtered, with an alcohol content of 40% ABV.
