Product details
Niwa no Uguisu 60 Junmai Ginjo hails from the Chikugo region in Kyushu, Japan, an area renowned for its pristine water sources and rich sake-brewing heritage. The brewery, Yamaguchi Shuzojo, is nestled in northern Chikugo, where the pure waters of the Chikugogawa River have nourished countless sake artisans over the centuries. Inspired by the sight of Japanese nightingales enjoying the garden’s waters, the 6th generation head, Yamaguchi Risuke, was inspired to create sake that captures the essence of this serene and natural setting.
This Junmai Ginjo sake is known for its fresh and aromatic profile, offering notes of green melon with a vibrant, crisp texture on the palate. The sake’s umami-rich rice flavors transition into a long, satisfying finish, making it an ideal companion to a wide range of dishes. Whether paired with grilled fish, savory meat and vegetable dishes, or Japanese favorites like dashi-seasoned omelets and simmered tofu, Niwa no Uguisu enhances the dining experience. It also complements more adventurous pairings such as herb-crusted shrimp, dan dan noodles, or vinaigrettes infused with shoyu, garlic, and ginger.
