Sakai Shuzo Brewery
"Established in Yamaguchi-prefecture, 1871. The brewery is located along the Nishiki river in Iwakuni city and the name GOKYO comes from the Kintaikyo, a beautiful and historical wooden bridge with well-designed unique five-span arches.
Gokyo Five Red Junmai: Rich type. The nose on this is the moderate aroma of grapefruit and citrus fruits. Very dry, clear umami savory flavor with faintly mild creamy sweetness. Clean and dry aftertaste.
Pairing Recommendation: Steak, Pork or veal cutlet, Cream stew, Fried chicken, Hamburg steak, Simmered Fish in Sweetened Soy Sauce, Sukiyaki, Japanese meat and potato stew, Sweet and sour pork, Mapo tofu, etc.
