Product details
Originally known as the J. J. Cohn Estate, Scarecrow Vineyards is a world-renowned wine producer from Rutherford California. The winery's name was chosen in honor of Cohn, executive producer of iconic films like The Wizard of Oz. In keeping with such a legacy, Scarecrow wines have become a true cult phenomenon. This featured bottling of 2008 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 100% California Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from eight separate lots from Sept to Oct 2008 – with each lot fermented independently and aged in virgin French oak barrels for 1 year. The wine was later blended and matured for an additional 11 months before being bottled in July 2010. Released in a limited run of just 1,000 cases with varying ABV%, this exceptionally collectible Cabernet was reviewed and awarded an amazing 99 points overall by international wine critic James Suckling and 96 points by the experts of Wine Spectator.
