Product details
The 2011 Second Flight, sourced from their eastern Oakville vineyard, presents a blend of the estate’s red Bordeaux varietals. This vintage, a mix of 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc, showcases a deep garnet hue and a captivating bouquet of wilted roses and violets, accompanied by notes of blackberry tart, raspberry preserves, and kirsch, with subtle hints of baking spices and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, it features a robust structure with grainy tannins and a refreshing quality, offering beautifully perfumed layers and a finish infused with exotic spices. Despite the cool, rainy conditions of the vintage, the wine displays surprising weight and concentration, thanks in part to the unusually late harvest on November 1, which contributed to the exceptional ripeness of the tannins.
