Shirakawago Sasanigori Junmai Ginjo Nigori, also known as "Bamboo Leaf" sake, is a distinguished offering from Miwa Shuzo, a brewery established in 1837 in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture. Renowned for its abundant spring water, Ogaki provides an ideal environment for sake production. Over 40 years ago, at the request of the mayor of Shirakawa village, Miwa Shuzo crafted this unique unrefined sake, inspired by the traditional Doburoku served at local festivals. This creation has since garnered acclaim both domestically and internationally.
This lightly cloudy, full-bodied sake is produced through meticulous, long-term fermentation at low temperatures, resulting in a harmonious balance of freshness and restraint. The flavor profile includes notes of vanilla, white bread, dried coconut flakes, and steamed rice, delivering a smooth, light, and slightly dry experience with a delicate creaminess and a long finish.
