Sinegal Estate's 2022 Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc exemplifies the winery's dedication to merging heritage with innovation. Established in 1879 and revitalized by the Sinegal family in 2013, the estate employs modern "field-first" micro-farming techniques to produce wines of exceptional quality. This Sauvignon Blanc is crafted from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, whole-cluster pressed, and fermented with native yeasts in a combination of 35% new French oak barrels, including large-format cigar and puncheon barrels. Aged sur lie for 11 months with bâtonnage, the wine develops a rich texture and complexity.
On the nose, the wine reveals aromas of white peach, spiced apple, mandarin, cherry blossom, and wet stone. The palate offers fresh flavors of Asian pear, apricot, lemon zest, ripe nectarine, and lychee, all balanced by vibrant acidity and a silky finish. This Sauvignon Blanc pairs beautifully with dishes like broiled scallops, grilled shrimp, goat cheese salads, or citrus-glazed chicken, complementing its bright acidity and fruit-forward profile.
