Eigashima Shuzo's Goju 50 is a blended Japanese whisky crafted in Akashi, Japan, using wheat, rye, and lightly peated malted barley (10ppm). Double distilled in copper pot stills, it is aged for 3 years in a mix of new oak, ex-bourbon.
The whiskies are matured in a variety of cask types, including ex-bourbon and ex-rye whiskey barrels, which contribute to the complexity and depth of the final expression.
Each cask is hand-selected by the master distiller Oishi-san, who juxtaposes the beauty of light and dark by presenting a soft silky texture alongside the bold sherry influence of the cask.
