Product details
Yamahai Junmai Sake is the standard series from Suehiro Brewery. It has a full-bodied flavor with a balanced sweet and sour taste. Its deep flavor makes it an excellent accompaniment to a variety of dishes, and it is best served warm. Yamahai (Japanese: 山廃) is a traditional way of making sake where, rather than adding lactic acid to deter microbes and bacteria from spoiling the fermentation, no lactic acid is added, and thus the sake is left to ferment naturally.
An elegant nose with hints of Ginjo, ripe fruit, and lactic notes. Round and powerful on the palate, balanced and complex. Between umami, acidity, and astringency. The depth and sweetness of the rice are evident. This is followed by fruity notes of pear and citrus fruit, mingling with vegetal, spicy, and peppery sensations. The finish is well-balanced, with good bitterness and plenty of freshness.
To best enjoy Suehiro Densho Yamahai Junmai, serve it warmed. Pour it into a traditional sake cup or a wine glass to fully appreciate the notes of earthiness, nuts, and a hint of fruit. Pair it with savory dishes like grilled meats, hearty stews, or aged cheeses to complement its complex taste. Savor each sip slowly to experience the depth and balance this well-crafted sake offers.
