Product details
Napa Valley’s 2017 vintage brought relief from the drought and marvelously round, sweet fruit due to a series of heat spikes over Labor Day weekend. Their estate fruit was already picked and fermenting in the winery when wildfires broke out on October 8, and the wine was not affected.
The nose offers rich, deep notes of dried plums, crushed basil leaves, and raspberry tart. An intense core of juicy black cherry and boysenberry delivers wonderful fruit purity, complemented by intriguing notes of wild thyme, summer berry bramble, and caramelized sweet potato. The well-integrated tannins and sleek and slippery texture carry the wine through its long finish of black cherries and dried mint.
