Macallan’s 18 year old Double Cask expression uses whiskies matured in both Sherry-seasoned ex-Bourbon barrels and Sherry casks to create a flavor profile that highlights the best of both worlds: the exotic spice and decadence of the European oak and the vanilla of the American oak. The Sherry in turn imparts its own dessert-like flavors of dark chocolate and caramel.
