The 2018 Charmes Chambertin from Domaine Castagnier is a striking ruby red, captivating with its vibrant color. The nose reveals a delightful mix of red berry aromas complemented by savory notes that add depth.
Bursting with juicy red fruit on the nose leading to round, elegant cherry and blackcurrant flavours on the palate underlined by silky smooth tannins. Best enjoyed young. Enjoy with a mushroom risotto or Chris Lee’s duck breast recipe.
An intense, bright, red color; a powerful nose, with notes of black cherry and spice, evolving towards aromas of young leather. On the palate, the tannins give a certain impression of firmness, somewhat softened by a nice, harmonious texture.
Deep garnet-purple in color, it hits the ground running with bold, expressive notes of warm cassis, boysenberries, and black cherries, with an undercurrent of clove oil, fertile loam, cedar chest, and tar. Medium to full-bodied.

Aromas of fresh raspberries with some lemon peel and fresh herbs follow through to a full to medium body. Fresh herbs and graphite highlight the wine. Chewy finish. Needs time to soften. Better after 2022.
