From a cooler vintage that saw significant heat spikes later in the year, it has incredible purity in its cassis and darker fruits as well as leafy tobacco, flowers, and background oak.

The 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark garnet color. It has an intense nose of cassis liqueur, dried figs and chocolate. It has a very concentrated attack, a mouthcoating mid-palate and a long finish with a slight tannic grip.
The nose shows abundant red fruits, lots of bright cherry along with bramble-berries, such as blackberry, cranberry, mulberry, and framed with hints of mineral/herbal characters such as graphite, cedar, and pencil shavings.

From Scarecrow’s younger vines, this is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, and 3% Merlot crafted by local legend Celia Welch who’s been making wine in Napa for thirty years.
Opaque purple in color with blackberry, creosote, incense and charcoal notes, a touch of spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry, the wine is full-bodied, multidimensional with terrific concentration, purity and palate presence.
Second Flight offers up floral, blue and black fruit, mocha and white chocolate characteristics. It possesses full-bodied, silky flavors, and a finish that lasts 50+ seconds. It can be enjoyed now, but should evolve effortlessly for 12-15+ years.
