A delicate straw color and begins with a hint of flinty minerality. As it opens, the wine reveals complex layers of blackcurrant bud, Meyer lemon pith, and white peaches, intertwined with aromas of apple blossom, sea salt, and crushed stone.
A medium ruby color and offers expressive notes of red berries, cranberries, and juniper. There’s a good bit of reduction initially that benefits from a little air at this stage, but it starts to reveal darker notes as it opens.
The wines from 2022, the second of three consecutive cooler vintages for Kistler, offer a distinct character of freshness and a perfect sense of being just ripe throughout.
The 2010 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard comes across as implosive and structured. Today the wine is quite reticent, as it is showing just the barest hint of its potential.
The 2021 Chardonnay Lazy Lounging is a crisp, cool offering, loaded with gently grilled citrus and pineapple notes. It's medium to full-bodied, crisp, mouthwatering and long. It's not as broad or generous as the 2020 but longer and perhaps more elegant.

2018 La Joie displays a brilliant violet core with a thin rim of bright ruby. Generous fruit-for- ward aromas of ripe black currant and black cherry are followed by earthy notes of fresh conifer, dried mushroom, black olive, dusty clay, anise and clove.
