With an auspicious Chinese name that stands for “eternal fortune and fame," the 140-year-old Wing Lee Wai has been one of the oldest businesses in Hong Kong since 1905. Its Ng Ka Py (Acanthopanax Gracilistylus medicinal liquor) and Mui Kwe Lu (Rose Dew Wine) were considered banquet drinks and cooking wine. They were famous for their tagline, “Half chicken and a bottle of Wing Lee Wai," the Chinese pronunciation of the word chicken and Wai rhymes.

永利威酒业有限公司,原名永利威酒庄,拥有140年历史的永利威是自1905年以来香港最古老的企业之一。其五加皮酒和玫瑰露酒被高度赞誉为宴会饮品和烹饪酒,以及以“半只鸡和一瓶永利威”为标语而闻名,其中“鸡”和“威”的中文发音相近。五加皮酒取材於安南桂心,野生人参、川芎、女贞子、川独活、川加皮、熟附子等30种名贵中药材精炼後,选用陈年纯高梁酒勾兑而成。这是一种具有驱凤去湿,行气活血,舒筋活络等功效的酒。中医有句话是“气行则血行,血行风自灭”的治疗手则,之所以永利威保健药酒有一百多年历史,流传至今,亦是他的功效所见。

Wing Lee Wai originally named Wing Lee Wai Winery, was founded in 1876 by Wong Sing Hui (also known as Yiu Shan) from Nanhai, Guangdong Province. Wing Lee Wai is best known for its "Ng Ka Py" and "Mui Kwe Lu." The former contains medicinal herbs, while the latter is infused with floral fragrances. By combining sorghum with ingredients such as rose and Chinese herbal ingredients such as cassia and angelica, they invented the secret formulas for producing Ng Ka Py and Mui Kwe Lu, which were passed down from generation to generation. Since the firm insisted on using the best ingredients sourced from remote locations (e.g., rose petals from Sichuan or the UK, sorghum from Kimun, Taiwan, and cassia from Vietnam), its products became known for their quality, and over time, Wing Lee Wai became a sought-after brand nationwide.

2 oz Ng Ka Py liquor, 1 oz orange juice, 0.5 oz grenadine syrup, Ice cubes

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add Ng Ka Py liquor, orange juice, and grenadine syrup. Shake well until chilled. Strain into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange slice and enjoy your refreshing Ng Ka Py Sunset cocktail!
